Account information. When you register, we collect your username, email address, and a hashed password. You may optionally provide a display name and profile picture.

Content you upload. Mod files, screenshots, descriptions, and comments you post are stored on our servers and may be publicly visible.

Usage data. We collect standard server logs including IP addresses, browser type, pages visited, and actions taken (e.g. downloads, views). This data is used for security, analytics, and improving the service.

Payment information. Premium subscriptions are processed by a third-party payment provider (Stripe). We do not store your card details. We receive confirmation of payment status and a subscription identifier.

Cookies and local storage. We use cookies to maintain your session and remember preferences. We do not use third-party tracking cookies.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Create and manage your account and authenticate your sessions.
• Deliver the services you request, including mod hosting and downloads.
• Send transactional emails (e.g. email verification, password resets).
• Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and violations of our Terms of Service.
• Analyse usage patterns to improve performance and features.
• Process premium subscription payments.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data to serve targeted advertising from third-party ad networks.

We retain account information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or security purposes. Mod files and public content you have posted may remain available for a reasonable transition period unless you explicitly request removal.

No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure; we encourage you to use a strong, unique password and to enable two-factor authentication when it becomes available.

7. Children

ModSynapse is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If we learn that we have done so, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via a notice on the site. Continued use of ModSynapse after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
