Terms of Service

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use ModSynapse. By using the platform you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are under 18, you must have the permission of a parent or legal guardian.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorised use.

You may not create an account using false information, impersonate another person, or operate more than one account for the purpose of evading moderation actions.

3. User content

Ownership. You retain ownership of the content you upload to ModSynapse, including mod files, screenshots, and descriptions.

Licence to ModSynapse. By uploading content you grant ModSynapse a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, distribute, and make available that content as part of operating the platform. This licence ends when you remove the content or delete your account, subject to caching and backup retention periods.

Your responsibility. You are solely responsible for the content you upload. You represent that you have the rights necessary to grant the above licence, and that your content does not violate any applicable law or these Terms.

4. Prohibited content and conduct

You may not upload, post, or transmit content that:

• Infringes the intellectual property rights of any person or entity.
• Contains malware, spyware, or other malicious code.
• Is illegal, defamatory, harassing, threatening, or abusive.
• Depicts or facilitates harm to minors.
• Constitutes spam or unsolicited commercial communications.
• Misrepresents your identity or affiliation with any person or organisation.

You may not attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the platform, disrupt service availability, scrape content in bulk without permission, or use automated tools to abuse platform features.

5. Intellectual property of game publishers

Many mods are derived from games owned by third-party publishers. You are responsible for ensuring that your mod complies with the terms of service, modding policies, and end-user licence agreements of the relevant game and publisher. ModSynapse does not authorise the use of any third-party intellectual property beyond what the rights holder permits.

6. Moderation and enforcement

ModSynapse reserves the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or that we determine, in our sole discretion, is harmful to the platform or its community. Repeated or serious violations may result in suspension or termination of your account.

7. Premium subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are billed on the terms displayed at checkout. Subscriptions automatically renew until cancelled. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. All payments are non-refundable except where required by applicable law.

8. Disclaimers

ModSynapse is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We are not responsible for the content uploaded by users or for any damage caused by mods you download.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ModSynapse and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the platform.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which ModSynapse operates, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email or via a notice on the site at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of ModSynapse after revised Terms take effect constitutes acceptance of the changes.
